Everything at 1800 Gallons is produced from pre-existing materials - either industry deadstock or upcycled denim pieces. Rather than creating demand for new fabrics or commissioning our own, we like to use an already existing source. In fashion we love the look of worn denim, but instead of faking this with water and machine-intensive processes, why not use the real thing?
Did you know it takes 1800 gallons of water just to grow the cotton for one pair of jeans? The Aral Sea has actually dried up because of unsustainable cotton production! There is an abundance of denim out there that we can use to preserve our precious water sources for future generations.
Ethical labour is at the heart of sustainability at 1800 Gallons. Good environmental practice means nothing if the humans in the supply chain are being undervalued in the process. All our garments are produced either in house or at a London factory for at least a living wage.

OUR STORY
1800 Gallons is a slow fashion label that embraces pre-existing denim and transforms it into something new. It was launched during September 2019 LFW by Emily Tan and offers a core collection of styles that can be customised in material and size. Items are made to order in Tan's Brixton studio and embrace a seasonless model, leading by quality and design rather than trend. Previously Emily has worked at Celine, Marc Jacobs, Rejina Pyo and more.
MADE-TO-ORDER
1800 Gallons currently operates on a made-to-order basis. This allows us to minimise waste and make bespoke changes to your orders, such as sizing adjustments and denim washes. Fashion has a huge issue with over-consumption, and this is one way we can tackle this. Garments will ship within 21 business days from their order date.
